The Pencarrow fun runs/walks take place in part of Wellington that travellers see from planes and boats but we rarely get round to walking along the path to the historic Pencarrow lighthouse.
The coastal route is mainly traffic free with a hard packed stone surface. Predominantly flat with one slight rise, certainly not a hill.
Ideal for all levels of fitness bring the kids for the 5 km and enjoy the rugged coastal scenery.
Find the start by following the Eastbourne road till you come to the big car park at the Bus park/toilets. Park your car and walk the final 200m to Burdens Gate.
Start at burdens gate and follow the coastal path to the turn for your distance, thenreturn to the start/finish.
There is an obligatory race briefing 10 minutes before the start of each distance.

Race Number Collection
Race numbers are to be collected between 1pm and 3pm on Saturday 6th May at Race HQ which is the Petone Workingmen's Club. Late entries will also be taken at this time.
Race numbers are to be worn on the front and are to be clearly visible at all times. Remember to bring race numbers to the presentation.
There will be a $10 administration fee on all refunds requested before 30 April. After 30 April refunds will only be given on presentation of a medical certificate.

Because this is an out and back course, with 3 distances in the event, there will be drink stations at 2.5km, 5km, 21km.
2.5km is the 5k turn, 5k is the 10k turn, 10.05km is the half turn so you will also hit the same water stations on the way back.
10km and 5km events are open to all entrants. Half Marathon is open only to those 16 years. No dogs allowed on the course. No smoking on the course.
We will make all efforts to let the event go ahead but not at the expense of safety. So as event organisers we reserve the right to change or alter any of the courses at any time in the interest of competitor or public safety. If the event has to be postponed through no fault of the organisers there will be no race entry refund
The prize giving will be held at the Petone Workingmens Club where the registration took place. It will be held at some time between 1pm and 2:30pm. That's no earlier than 1pm and no later than 2:30, so be there at 1pm to make sure you do not miss it. All entrants are eligible for spot prizes. Race numbers must be shown to claim prize. You must be present to collect your prize. Prizes not claimed will be redrawn.
Parking & Personal Kit.
There is some parking available near to the start. We will not take responsibility for any of your personal kit so please make arrangements to put it in a car or have a friend take possession of it.
You can enter by sending in a paper entry or by down loading an entry form at the bottom of the entry page. Late entry fee will apply on entries submitted after midnight Sunday 30th April. We will also accept late entries at registration on Saturday 6th May between 1pm and 3pm at Petone Workingmens Club, Udy Street, Lower Hutt.
Late entries without the late entry fee will be returned.
Race Day Entry
On race day any registrations and race administration will take place at the start line. Late entries will be accepted up to 30 minutes before the start of the relevant race. A late entry fee of $10 will apply to all race day entrants.
